Mobility Scheme

Starting in 2021, EERA JP ES supports its members through student and researcher exchanges. 

The main objectives of the EERA JP ES mobility scheme is to:

  • reinforce collaboration within JP ES in order to realise new breakthrough energy storage solutions,
  • increased understanding and deepening research relationships,
  • support the researchers in their carrier developing and
  • enhance consortia building within the JP ES.

 

Call for Applications – EERA JP Energy Storage 2026

The EERA Joint Programme on Energy Storage (JP ES) is pleased to announce, that the 2026 Call for Applications, to support collaborative exchange activities within our community, is now open !

🎯 Priority Focus: Applications focusing on Hybridization approaches for Energy Storage will be given funding priority

📝 Application Procedure & Timeline

To participate, please follow the collaborative exchange timeline and steps below:

Submit Application
Application Window: June 3 – July 1, 2026
Prepare your collaborative exchange proposals. The applicant completes the official application form and submits it directly to the Exchange Coordinator before the July 1 deadline.
Board Evaluation
Evaluation Period: July – August 2026 (Results expected in September 2026)
The Management Board of JP ES reviews all submitted applications and evaluates your proposal based on community impact and hybridization focus. Exact result announcement date depends on application volume.
Sign the Contract
Post-approval Stage
If the evaluation is positive and the proposal is selected, a formal agreement/contract is signed between you (the applicant) and your chosen host organisation.

 

📋 Post-Exchange Requirements

Once your collaborative exchange is complete, successful applicants are required to:

Deliver a Report: A summary report of your findings and activities must be delivered to us. After we remove personal data (such as names and email addresses), the report will be published by us on the official EERA JP ES website. Present to the Committee: If required, a presentation summarizing the exchange will be given at a JP ES Steering Committee meeting.
We encourage all interested applicants to prepare their proposals in advance and take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen collaboration within the energy storage community.

The Financial Support

JP ES supports the exchanges through the reimbursement of the

  • travel expenses 
  • accommodation and
  • daily expenses (per diem).

The total funding may not exceed €5,000 per researcher and the mobility program may not last longer than 12 weeks.
