The Key Role of Na and Na-SWB Batteries

Seawater Batteries (SWBs) represent a very promising solution in the energy storage field, a key theme for the transition to future power grids based on renewable generation.
These batteries employ the abundant, cost-free salt contained in seawater as the active cathode material. Sodium is stored on the anode side, either as a metal or in solution. In the specific configuration implemented within the SBAM project, an Na-BP solution is utilized at the anode. This strategic choice also allows for the storage of sodium (a reactive metal) outside the battery cell, enabling its reconversion to produce electricity. This facilitates long-term and seasonal energy storage.

Beyond Energy: SWB Ancillary Services
The SWB technology is not limited to energy storage alone. It offers the capability to perform crucial ancillary services, such as:

 Direct Carbon Capture.
 Seawater Desalination.

Webinar: The Key Role of Na and Na-SWB Batteries
This webinar will delve into the huge potential of sodium and sodium-seawater batteries for the clean energy transition, involving the world's leading scientists and research groups working on such technology?
