The workshop is organized by the Gemini Centre for Thermal Energy Storage and hosted by SINTEF Energy Research. The 2026 edition will be closely connected to the IEA Tasks on Materials and Components for Thermal Energy Storage, whose expert meeting will take place in Trondheim on 7–8 December. The EERA Joint Programme on Energy Storage is also supporting this year's edition.           Technical Alignment & Synergies IEA Tasks Expert Coordination By scheduling the main TES technical forum immediately adjacent to the international IEA expert evaluations (December 7–8), attending entities benefit from enhanced knowledge sharing across fundamental energy storage material matrices and active industrial scale test-beds.     Strategic Regional Framework EERA Joint Programme Support The institutional endorsement from the EERA Joint Programme on Energy Storage bridges domestic innovation initiatives with strategic European clean energy transitions, promoting cross-border collaboration frameworks for flexible network grids.
